Review of The Longest Ride (2015) by Lee D — 26 Apr 2015

While the last outing I had with a Nicholas Sparks film (best of me) was a complete disappointment, I am actually very pleased with my experience with the longest ride. This is actually a very touching, well acted and decently structured film. now it isn't Oscar worthy by any means (although Alan Alda's performance might be an exception) but it was an enjoyable story that was actually no where near as needlessly tragic as most of the Sparks stories end up. the two love stories displayed here are both effective but the story we see in flashback with Alan Alda's character is by far the highlight of the film for me (I might be a little biased though as Alan Alda is one of my favorite all time actors).

All in all I'd say if you enjoy a good romance then the longest ride is a fairly safe bet. definitely not perfect but its still quite enjoyable.
