If you read the book you'll find yourself disappointed in some scenes and satisfied with others. It's Hollywood so they do what they can to try to keep the book and the movie somewhat in the same realms within the 2 hour time slot.
If you're watching the movie without seeing the book you'll find the movie very enjoyable. It's a cute storyline with its own twist on "happily ever after". If you're judging it based off of previous works from Nicholas Sparks you shouldn't.
This storyline holds its own.
