Review of The Longest Ride (2015) by Shirley C — 20 Aug 2015
I went ahead and rented the movie instead of waiting for it to come on one of the free DirecTV weekends. I really enjoyed meeting Scott Eastwood. He did a good job. Brittany Robinson, who I've never seen before, played her part beautifully. The story within the story was the best part of The Longest Ride, without a doubt. While the entire film was fairly enjoyable, I kept seeing parts that were too familiar to all the other Nicholas Sparks' movies: the water scene, the jump in "his" arms scene, the slow bedroom scene that went way too long in this one, and which will never hold a candle to the chemistry between Noah and Allie in The Notebook no matter how hard they try. The best part of the movie was the ending. It was well put together. Kudos to Brittainy Robinson. I will definitely watch her again. And Scott Eastwood was the perfect cowboy.
