Review of The Longest Day (1962) by Peter G — 01 Sep 2007
An excellent film about a seminal day in world history. Everyone who values their democratic freedom should see this film and say thank you to their grandfathers, fathers and uncles who gave of themselves so that future generations could live free.
Title is a quote of remarks made by General Rommel while inspecting the beach where the invasion was expected but did not happen because of some brilliant di-information - General Patton and his 3rd Army looking as if they were going to invade the Pas de Calais.
Best war film until Band of Brothers.
