Another one of the greatest war classics of all time. Released in 1962, The Longest Day is the first film that accurately tells the story of the invasion of Normandy from the eyes of both sides of the war.
Also the special effects and the cinematography (both which won an academy award that year)are very well done for its time and still pleasing to todays audiences.
