'The Longest Day' has the historical accuracy and scope of a documentary, but the action and slick presentation of a hollywood drama. It's clearly the most educational of all D-Day movies, which in itself makes this movie such a great one to watch.
At times, the movie does fade, but the constant ack-ack of wartime is unnerving in itself.
