Review of The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996) by Jay P — 24 Nov 2007
Possibly Renny Harlin's best, bouyed by a witty reevaluation of familiar territory as imagined by screenwriter Shane Black. Problematic masquerading as progressive? You betcha. But in the hands of two wittily engaging and ideologically aware performers like Geena Davis and Samuel L.
Jackson, one cannot help but think that, for once, the idea is to let the audience in on the joke instead of making them the butt of it.
