Review of The Long Good Friday (1980) by Minty F — 12 Feb 2008
The quintessential British gangster movie, great cockney jibes, great humour, low budget, unti Hollywood, BRILLIANT.
This film was the first of its kind and sewed the seeds for Lock, Sock, & Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, and Layer Cake ect.
Someone needs to change the release date on this movies description as it came out in 1980 not 82.
Has one of my fav movie quotes: On finding out one of his thugs mum was blown up in a church, Bob Hoskins angrilly replys "Shes gone there to do her daily preyers, not get blown up".
