Review of The Loneliest Planet (2012) by Avid C — 11 Nov 2012
Hani Furstenberg gives a subtle but impressive performance. The cinematography of the Georgian countryside will blow you away. The director trusts the viewer to let the visuals and the sounds tell the story.
Don't be deceived by the hand held camera shots employed in this film. The director, Julia Loktev, is in full, skillful control of how the action proceeds in front of the lens. With its editing, a subtle theme of body politic emerges if you watch carefully.
