Review of The Lone Ranger (1956) by Shane D — 11 Apr 2015
The Lone Ranger felt like a very lazy film; laced with high-end actors and capable directors, a good original script, and just lazy execution. Johnny Depp is starting to show traits of being type-cast; eccentric, foreign and abnormally strange.
However, here, it is more slap-stick than wit or intelligence. Most the characters are cardboard cut-outs, the story has been done a million times, with rampant predictability. With a PG rating, it goes without saying why it has faltered.
Limited to cater to all audiences, it has had to detract from being more luscious with content. The Lone Ranger is a movie built off a large budget, but with poor foundations, it fails to show itself off as anything with exciting content.
