Review of The Loft (2014) by Justjayfilms . — 31 Dec 2015
I actually don't think it's a bad film. The story holds potential, but it's incompetently made. The cinematography is passable except for a few really bad moments here and there, the script isn't really good, there are constant flashbacks (and even flashbacks within flashbacks), and the characters are all detestable, with the worst one being Marty played by Erik Stonestreet (his character is a leering, disgusting, and chauvinistic pig).
The only real likable characters are Chris and Ann, as played by James Marsden and Rachael Taylor. The story is interesting and the twists near the end are nice, but The Loft is so incompetently made that this shines through in just about every scene of the film.
