Review of The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog (1927) by Dominick A — 19 Sep 2009
Despite some stunning sequences and photography, this is definately not one of Hitchcock's best films. Personally I feel it could have been cut quite a bit as certain sequences seem to drag. Having said that, this film contains some of the subtlest acting in a silent film that I have seen - certain scenes with the parents come to mind.
Overall satisfying but slightly overrated if you ask me.
