Review of The Lodger (1932) by Kevin M. W — 18 Jul 2018
One of those old style mystery films that take every opportunity to cast suspicion on the most obvious character - in this case, a recent immigrant - only to discover that the perp was actually someone else.
Yeah, I kinda resent the literary cheat, but plenty of old school went that way, and got away with it. Scandalous. The work still is moody and atmospheric, which is okay, and has Jack Hawkins in an early role, here as a racist.
