Review of The Local (2008) by Pete B — 06 Dec 2009
This is perhaps my favorite crime film ever... The story is about a new to town guys troubles with debts drug users and addiction. The most convincing portrait of the saddness and turmoil that this would cause.
The scene that really got me was the part where he crashes in his small room of stress and total exaustion. Note the details of his bed on the floor. I've lived and seen rooms like this many times and this is how it looks really not like the hollywood glam crime drug films.
