Review of The Lobster (2015) by Robert R — 03 Dec 2016
Worst movie of 2016. This film starts out in a dystopian, highly feminist charged alternate reality. While the cast of characters are quite good, the film explores myriad topics whose reasons for being are never explained.
Overtly serial in nature, but lacking in eroticism and creativity, the effect is that of a sexually frustrated Big Brother Orwell 1984. The cinematography is quite good, but the lackluster finish leaves viewers perplexed, and pondering what possible entertainment value this film lacks.
