Review of The Lobster (2015) by Matt G — 23 Sep 2016
It's always a delight when a filmmaker knows exactly the tone he wants, and succeeds....no matter how odd it is. As we follow a man looking for a life-partner so he isn't turned into a lobster, it beautifully parallels the reality of modern relationships, our absurd fear of loneliness, and reminds us that fascist control is not merely a trait of those currently in power but a potential within all humanity.
Compelling, hilarious, disturbing, and haunting...& if Farrell isn't nominated, then the Oscars are broken.
