Review of The Lobster (2015) by Oliver K — 11 Jun 2017
They say that you can make a film about anything, and that there are no original ideas left in the cinema. Out of these two statements, the lobster exercises the former while trying its very best to focus on the latter.
While the premise of the Lobster is intriguing and thought provoking, it is let-down by the stilted directing style and motionless plot.
As I sat and watched the Lobster over the course of two hours, I felt that this was a concept that should have been left as a short-film concept.
