Junior high graduate Lizzie McGuire travels to Rome on a class trip with her classmates & best friend Gordo. The movie takes place right where the show left off. After Lizzie's last day of 9th grade.

Everyone is excited & on their first night in Rome, Lizzie & Gordo promise to have adventures together. Lizzie gets the first one when she throws a coin in the Trevi Fountain. International superstar Paolo, thinks she is Isabella, his old singing partner.

He asks Lizzie if she can meet him in front front of the Trevi Fountain the next morning, but she says she can't. Gordo tells her that he will cover for her & she meets him the next day. They tour the city & Lizzie almost gets busted but Gordo stalls their chaperone, Miss Ungermyer.

She continues to sneak out with Paolo, get made over & she falls in love with him & eventually becomes his singing partner for an awards show in Rome. Gordo is jealous because he has been in love with Lizzie for forever.

When Lizzie is about to get in trouble Gordo tells Miss Ungermyer that he was the one sneaking out & she sends him home. When he's at the airport Gordo runs into Isabella, who tells Gordo that she was the one that wanted to go solo & that Paolo is the one that lip syncs.

Gordo & Isabella go to the awards show to tell Lizzie & at first she doesn't believe them but when she does, she goes out to perform & the crew backstage turns Paolo's mike down so that everyone will know that he can't sing.

Lizzie finishes off the performance & Paolo's bodyguard, Sergei, resigns. Back at the hotel there is a party & Kate & Ethan enjoy spaghetti while Matt shows the hotel manager, Georgio, his blackmail tape of Lizzie, who throws it in a fountain.

The movie ends with Gordo & Lizzie having their last adventure in Rome by going up to the roof of the hotel & sharing a kiss. Fireworks soon spark which is the perfect end to this disney jewel.

Another Hilary Duff film that I recommend to fans of this great series & Hilary Duff herself.
