Review of The Living Daylights (1987) by Mark B — 08 Mar 2012
Not only I am a big fan of the Ian Fleming James bond books, Timothy Dalton was my favourite Bond, though not everyone's cup of tea. Dalton himself played Bond closer to the original books than any other actor and his performance is superb, he just has the right look.
In this film which is based on one of Ian Fleming's original short stories, James Bond has to help A KGB agent defect and stop a sniper killing him. The assassin is the beautiful Maryam d'Abo, but is there more to this girl than meets the eye.
This is classic bond, full of action, shoot outs, car chases, suspense and surprise, everything you expect from your typical bond movie. This is great Sunday afternoon entertainment.
