Here's the thing about the Dalton era of Bond. The films are not exactly great but the last 30 minutes are always mind blowing action sequences. License to Kill had the 18 wheeler/bazooka chase; and Daylights has the crazy battle at an army base - including two stuntmen hanging off of a giant net of heroin... which is hanging off of a airplane mid-flight. It's nuts. And probably one of my favorite set pieces of the Bond series that I've seen.

Sadly the rest of the film isn't up to snuff. In my IMDB research, I found that this script was written for Moore and then changed when Dalton signed on - and you can tell. There are strange comedic action scenes (protect the cello!) that felt out of place when compared to the (somewhat) dark grit that Dalton brings. The villain wasn't very exciting, nor was the plot very interesting. You get the feeling that Dalton never got to meet his full potential.

The Good:

The milk man/bomb throwing guy was a grade A henchman.

The ending action sequence.

Bond aids the Al Qaeda(?).

Jack's dad from LOST was Felix!

Gimli is General Pushkin!

The Bad:

Silly action gags.

Terrible opening action sequence (paintball mode?).

80's music was not good to Bond - awful opening credits.

Bond aids the Al Quaeda(?).
