Review of The Living Daylights (1987) by Hollie N — 08 Dec 2008
Another entertaining Bond film. The action is good, the humor isn't too campy, and Timothy Dalton does a great job as Bond, making him seem more real than Roger Moore ever did. But the film has a few drawbacks.
The camp isn't completely gone, and James Bond out-sledding the Russians on a cello case is a utterly ridiculous. And while I enjoyed the villain's preoccupation with war, he was pretty mediocre overall, and his demise was predictable and lame.
But at least there's John Rhys-Davies. He's just so awesome. Not a great Bond movie, but certainly in the top half.
