Review of The Living Daylights (1987) by Will S — 20 Oct 2017
Iam ashamed to admit that I had never watched this Bond outing before until a couple hours ago as of this writing. This is a badass Bond film. With only two weak spots...the Douche who plays Felix Leiter and John Barrys underwhelming score. This was Barry's last Bond score and its real flat! And it makes sense that the actor who played Leiter was the title character in Hawk The Slayer! Just check that film out for fine acting I dare you!
But seriously those are two minor gripes in what is one of the harder Bond films. Ive always liked Licence To Kill, but The living Daylights os alot better than that one. First it has a Bond girl who can act..unlike LTK. And secondly this is the only Dalton Bond film were he is on a M16 assignment. LTK was a personal revenge flick.
Its a shame that the franchise got tangled up in legal battles in the early 90's because Dalton was still under contract to play Bond at least one more time.
This had to be a refreshing change for Bond films following the awfull Moore films. I cant say because as a kid Moore was Bond to me. But now I know better!
