Timothy Dalton breathes new life into the James Bond franchise with his grounded and intense take on the role. The Living Daylights is a serious-minded tightly plotted thriller with nicely played scenes of human drama and romance, though the glamorous globe-trotting action, aerial stunts, and gadget-laden car ensure the Bond magic is thankfully still present.
