Review of The Living and the Dead (2006) by Darren D — 18 May 2008
I can't figure out what rating to give this flick, cos on one hand, it's technically done extraordinarily well with brilliant performances and beautiful direction and camerawork and editing. But on the other hand, this is one depressing movie.
Seriously. I don't know if I ever want to watch it again. This family goes through so much pain and difficulty because of the illness in the mother and the mentally challenged son. It's heartbreaking and moving and you better be made of stern stuff to watch this.
It is some seriously serious stuff.
