Review of The Lives of Others (2006) by Joe N — 24 Jan 2010
Excellent drama. A writer & his girlfriend are placed under surveillance in East Germany, 5 years before the wall fell, by The Stasi - The Secret Police. An operation with support from high up politicians.
But as Wiesler who is charged with this mission sees & hears more & more he starts to question what he believed & what his role in the world was instead of taking the opportunity to further his career.
Very well played by all it builds to its conclusion. A well made thought provoking movie which is a must see.
