Review of The Lives of Others (2006) by Josh S — 28 Jan 2011
A political thriller does not need assassins and Bond villain-esque qualities to make it good. Quite possibly the most true-to-life account of what sacrificing honor in times of oppression can offer.
Despite the slow plot, it is worth sticking it out until the very last lines in which they should not disappoint. Each piece of the puzzle starts fitting into place at just the right moments. Grade A storytelling/filmmaking.
