Review of The Lives of Others (2006) by Gabriel D — 08 May 2012
Wow, rarely has a film held my attention so well. It's a fascinating and frequently emotionally powerful film that brilliantly forces the audience to question their role as a spectator. The melodramatic events happening before our main character, played with a superb, quiet intensity by Ulrich Muhe whose performance brings the film together, hardly seem significant, but as we watch Muhe's character develop and see the emotions splashed across his face, we, as an audience, are involved in the events of the film.
