Review of The Lives of Others (2006) by Timothy A — 16 Jun 2015
Taut and compelling drama about post-war East Germany. Even as a period piece, with the audience knowing that Germany is on the brink of reunification, it effectively conveys a mixture of concern and indifference towards the police state of those making the best of what they see as an immutable situation.
Contains one humdinger of a clunky final line unfortunately, but not truly bad enough to erase what's come before.
