Review of The Lives of Others (2006) by Charlene M — 05 Apr 2010
"An innocent prisoner will become more angry by the hour. A guilty prisoner becomes more calm and quiet.".
An almost near perfect screenplay, that keeps you engrossed in not only the lives of this couple, but more so Gerd Wiesler (Secret Police/Stasi) surveiling them. Between actor and director they do a superb job of showing gradually how this member of the Stasi becomes part of this couple's lives day by day, which leads to more surprising events in the story. The acting and the construction of this film is brilliant!
