Review of The Little Switzerland (2019) by Dawdlingpoet — 27 Nov 2021
This is a somewhat wacky and certainly cheesy Spanish film. I imagine it could be seen as somewhat controversial given the political aspect of the Basque region wanting independence from Spain but this film is clearly a comedy. The comedy is mostly visual and fairly basic. Its a fairly gentle comedy I'd say, although it does (as I say) have a bit of a wacky feel to it, with characters literally putting their feet in it and so on. I found it an easy and somewhat entertaining watch. I quite enjoy Spanish (and French) films with if but mildly eccentric characters - such characters do seem perhaps a little exaggerated but then I suppose I don't know anyone from either country, so I could be wrong of course. In any case, I found this an enjoyable and fairly entertaining watch, if you can ignore the somewhat political aspect of the film. Any film that can use the word 'hornswoggled' can't be too awful (right?).
Yes I'd recommend this film, if it sounds of interest.
