Review of The Little Prince (2015) by Matt G — 01 Dec 2016
The Little Prince is like a Pixar film without the moral or emotional complexity. The visuals are fairly beautiful, especially the story breakaways and the tiny planets, and the score is nice. However, the forced whimsy and constant sadness drag it down.
The characters are wildly specific & one-dimensional, all in order to force thoughts on adult rigidity & childlike wonder. A desperate pull at our emotions that's never earned and rarely felt.
