Review of The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning (2008) by William M — 05 Nov 2008
This is somewhat the prequel to the Disney's Little Mermaid movie and it is ok. I lent it to my neighbour for her young kids and they loved it enough I hear. I felt some of the extras were interesting, like the Backstage Disney part where they have The Little Mermaid on Broadway.
And also that there is a new Little Mermaid movie that instead of being a prequel like this, is a continuation of the story with a grown up Ariel having a daughter. I think that one might be more interesting than this but it was nice to see Ariel's mother and all, and to see why King Triton was angry, as he appeared in the first movie at first at least and it did explain his temperment towards humans in a way.
All in all an ok movie that the little ones will like more.
