Review of The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane (1976) by Katherine R — 13 Dec 2007
Why were there so many films in the '70s about loners with ominous secrets in their basement or attic? Not that I'm complaining. I love them all and this is probably the best of the lot. I just watched it alone and it gave me willies like I haven't had in years.
But it's also a genuinely sad, well-drawn character study and Jodie Foster hits it out of the park. I don't know if I love any of her performances more than those she gave as a teenager.
