Review of The Little Foxes (1941) by Steven H — 23 Dec 2007
Bette Davis plays a women with ice water in her veins and makes it look easy. A very dark story-- most of the characters having no redeeming qualities. I usually like Herbert Marshall (Bette's dying hubby), but I find his character rather pathetic here.
Also, Teresa Wright doesnt add much to the film either (she was much better in Pride of the Yankees). One finds themselves rooting for Bette and seeing her husband and daughter as mealy-mouthed saps. Maybe its just me, but I was glad when Bette stuck it to her brothers and got what she wanted.
