Review of The Little Death (2014) by Caleb C — 02 Oct 2015
The 15 minutes of this film before it's final 2 minutes belong somewhere in a Richard Curtis film and is the only brilliant piece in this whole wasted project with great ideas. If anything, just watch it for that scene that begins at 1 hour 12 minutes and 30 seconds in and ends at 1:28:18.
That needs to be a short film produced on it's own and is one of the best love stories I've seen on screen this year. Otherwise the rest of this movie really tries to work and just becomes entirely mean-spirited and somewhat repulsive.
The film as a whole just fails because it wants to be a dark comedy but tries to have a heart at the same time and it all is just a mess and doesn't work unfortunately. Pedro Almodóvar should remake it.
