The further I get from the day I saw this movie, the more I dislike it. There is absolutely nothing about this movie that does anything better than the animated one. Graphically it is beautiful, but other than that the movie is completely forgettable.
If you want a great point to which this movie shows its flaws, look no further than the song "Just Can't Wait to be King." Remember all the shenanigans with the animals and colors and aesthetic in the cartoon? Well since this movie is photo-realistic, that entire song boils down to Simba and Nala walking around a pond singing.
That right there represents this film perfectly: Boring.
