Review of The Lion King (2019) by Snidelywhiplash — 22 Jul 2019
It's not plagiarism when made by the same company. Just much worse in every way and horribly creatively compromised. Who needs acting and appealing character animation when you can have REALISM. Completely misses the strengths of the first film in every way.
If you want original music, listen to the soundtrack separately, this film fails as a musical, a film, and sets back the art of animation massively in everything except its technical features, which will become dated in a way that classic character animation never will.
By watching this film, you tell Hollywood that this and more films like it are what you want, and continue to water down the very childhood you apparently cherish in mediocre retellings.
