This was almost a shot-for-shot remake of the animated version, they changed almost nothing. Only some dialogue and a few extra scenes were made, nothing else was different. I found some of the voice acting to be flat, especially Beyonce, who was atrocious as Nala.

I felt Scar should have been played by Jeremy Irons again as it just didn't mix right with Chiwetel Ejiofor, an amazing actor otherwise. While I praised Jungle Book and found Aladdin to be a surprisingly good film, those movies were executed uniquely so those films worked well.

Theres almost nothing unique about The Lion King.
