Review of The Lion King (1994) by Brendan N — 15 Jul 2017
Classic Disney film that has incredible characters and voice acting, Disney didn't hit these highs again for quite some time afterwards. I hear a remake into live action is coming and it sounds horrible, this film is a classic in every sense og the word.
The songs are funny and fit the film brilliantly, the casting of Broderick as the older Simba was a huge misstep and weakens certain scenes. Jones and Irons chew the scenery with their voices and create characters that leave other scenes lacking without their characters presence.
The film never lets the gas off once the film kicks off and an hour and a half film flies by quickly. The hard hitting film is just incredible, Disney created something special and timeless, just a shame they feel the need to remake into live action.
