Review of The Lion King (1994) by Tim O — 05 Jul 2014
Screw anyone who doesn't love one of the best films ever made for children. THE LION KING has strong character development, drama for all ages, dark and light moments and tones, mostly timeless dialogue from the main characters, catchy songs to match a beautiful score, excellent voice acting (particularly from Jones and Irons) and an impressive blend of CGI and beautifully hand drawn animation for the stampede. This movie was made with insane effort and an obvious love for children and their families, and it really, really shows. If you haven't seen this movie, see it now.
Also, major shoutout to Disney for teaching us HAMLET before we even knew who Shakespeare was!
