Review of The Lion King (1994) by Christian B — 07 Aug 2014
Before 3D animation, before Toy Story, The Incredibles, and the Disney movies that are causing Disney's downfall(Frozen, Turbo, Planes, ect...), we had the great and glorious, The Lion King.
*MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS BUT IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THIS MOVIE THEN THERE IS SOMETHING VERY WRONG WITH YOU*.
Lion King is about a Lion Cub who so desperatly wants to be King, he shows off and tries to show how brave he is, but he gets in trouble(you know, usual boy stuff). He suffers a great impact on his life when his father, Mufasa, died at the hand of Muasa's jealous and power seeking brother Scar. But Simba thought it was his fault so he ran away and was almost eaten by bird things.
Simba was taken in by a Meerkat, Timone, and a Warthog, Pumba. They taught him to put his past behind him and "Hakuna Matata." He lived with them throughout his teen years and into adulthood, singing Hakuna Matata the whole time and looking at the stars. When his childhood friend Nala was looking for help, she saw Pumba and tried to eat him, Simba intervened and after a weird Lion fight, an even weird Lion reunion happened and they sang love songs and took back the kingdom and had a daughter and you know, the Circle of Life.
The Lion King is arguable one of the best Disney animated films to date, the story was great, the songs were catchy and fun to listen to, it had an unexpected twist for a Disney movie, and it was something we hadn't seen before. Lion King is still my favorite Disney and Animated movie of all time.
