Review of The Lion King 1½ (2004) by Jane L — 14 May 2014
I admit, I have very fond memories of this one. I loved it when I was five, and it's not half bad. But now that I'm older, that charm has worn off. It's silly and nonsensical, but it unfortunately goes against the original's more serious tone.
It gets a 3 out of 5 from me for the nostalgic value. Bonus points for actually getting Nathan Lane and most of the supporting cast, the catchy "Dig A Tunnel" song, and Timon's mom and Uncle Max (played by Jerry Stiller of all people!).
