Review of The Lion King 1½ (2004) by Robert M — 09 Dec 2014
The origins of Timon and Pumbaa. A fun and comedic version of one of the greatest animated films. Both T and P host the show by literally sitting in the movie theater and simply taking over the original film, going back and forth again to a more close-up version of their actual times together (Timon's life mostly).
It was neat to see how the two rascals met and how they were secretly at so many known places that we wouldn't have thought of. Ma and Uncle Max were two productive and fun new characters throughout this film.
It was also neat to see such things as where Hakuna Matata came from (Rafiki), what happened during the fight between Scar and Simba, and of course how each of them met for the very first time. Music score (just like the other two) was very good as well.
Overall, it was a less serious, but hilarious version of a greatly well known classic.
