Review of The Lion in Winter (1968) by Kim M — 19 Feb 2007
"What family doesn't have it's ups and downs?" asks Eleanor of Aquitaine (Katherine Hepburn) when Henry II (Peter O'Toole) gathers his loved ones to appoint his successor.
The movie preoccupies itself with snappy, brutal diologe as the royals vie for power. An Oscar for Hepburn and nomination for O'Toole. Timothy Dalton's first big screen appearance and Anthony Hopkin's second.
