Review of The Lion in Winter (1968) by Lindsay A — 04 Feb 2008
Incredible. One of the greatest films ever made and an acting masterclass from everyone involved. Historically accurate (well, as well as a movie can be) and incredibly intelligent the film crackles with rapier wit and sparkling dialogue.
Everything about this movie oozes class and craft. We have so rarely seen a film of this quality since its release and with each passing year I fear the chances of making another piece of cinematic gold such as this are diminishing.
People just don't know how to make movies like this anymore.
