They don't make movies like this anymore. It is a perfect storm of story (the tempestuous relationship between Henry II of England, Eleanor of Aquataine and their three scheming sons), dialogue (adapted from James Goldman's brilliant Broadway play) and actors (O'Toole, Hepburn, Hopkins and Dalton with truly mesmerizing performances).
I have watched this many, many times over the years and it has never lost is lustre. Highly Recommended.
