Review of The Lion in Winter (1968) by Anne F — 13 Feb 2009
I'm a Peter O'Toole fan in general, but this is probably the most interesting and intriguing depiction of English royalty I've ever seen. It's a talky, no big action set pieces, no special effects, but it's gripping from beginning to end, with enough twists and turns to make even a roller coaster metaphor seem weak.
One of my favorite films of all time. The writing is incredible, especially the dialogue between O'Toole and Hepburn.
