King Henry II portrayed by Peter O'Toole is planning to announce his successor to the throne. But he has three sons and wants the youngest one to take over. Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine, played by the excellent Katharine Hepburn believes their son Prince Richard should be king.
Based on a play, winner of 3 of 7 nominations at the 1969 Oscars, it proves to be a true classic.
