Review of The Lincoln Lawyer (2011) by Joe O — 25 Jan 2012
One of the best movies of 2011. Just when you think you have all the answers, the evil Louis Roulet played by Ryan Phillippe changes the questions, but the Lincoln Lawyer played by Matthew McConaughey pulls all the strings to telegraph every move the villain makes.
This is McConaughey's best movie since Fraility, and in my opinion the best individual performance by him ever. The story was enthralling, yet simple. There were times watching it where I thought "Oh no, he's screwed now.
" Only to have it twist in some other direction. Great stuff. My kind of movie. The dialouge was fantastic. It was tense, gripping, funny when it needed to be, and McConaughey exceeded every expectaion I ever had of him as an actor in this awesome movie.
Do yourself a favor. Go to the store, or Blockbuster, and pick this one up.
