Review of The Lincoln Lawyer (2011) by Brian P — 18 Apr 2012
Great material in this movie for meditating on how absolutely wonderful and radical are the concepts of Mercy and Grace in our fallen world. The main character (no saint by any means) struggles through an existential crisis, while being led by his chauffeur (the Christ figure) in his Lincoln.
Did you notice the gleaming cross in the beginning? In the plot we observe our culture's supposed justice system, its "law and order" as the fallen realities they are. We see the cool factor fade from the screen faster than we like.
Then, the chauffeur is suddenly gone and chaos replaces the cool vibe. You'll have to watch the movie to see how it ends for Mickey, a laywer driven by his sinful desires as well as his desire for righteousness.
